Yesterday I asked where my followers are from because I think it is interesting.
The furthest north is …. Bodø, Norway
The furthest south is … Auckland, New Zealand (though Talcahuano, Chile was awfully close) A little competition has broken out over furthest south. Really it should have been Melbourne at the 37th parallel but I overlooked it. People have since chimed in from Wellington and Dunedin, NZ. The current winner is Dunedin, NZ.
The longest directions Google Maps would give me from NYC … Mumbai, India at 19,194 miles. Google quite offhandedly advised me to sail across the Pacific Ocean (stopping to drive through Hawaii). It also suggested I drive through Russia (?), which makes Mumbai further away than Karachi. Google Maps would not give me directions to Chile or Brazil, despite the fact that these could be boat free trips. Also, no directions were available for New Zealand.
